The event took place in a hybrid format, both on-site and online, bringing together over 40 key stakeholders.
The workshop is organized as part of the MICROMET project – Micro-qualification in seafarers’ education and training is funded under the Erasmus+ program - Key Action 2 for higher education. University of Zadar - Maritime Department is participating in the project as the project coordinator, along with our partners: Maritime MT (Malta), University of Split (Croatia), Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (Spain), Uniwersytet Morskiw Gdyni (Poland) and Tankerska plovidba d.d.
The main goal of the workshop was to gather ideas on how micro-credentials could be included in seafarers’ education and training, aiming to lay the groundwork for their adoption and recognition in maritime higher education. During the session, participants analyzed stakeholders’ views on micro-credentials and discussed possible frameworks and best practices for their use in the industry.
The workshop brought together representatives from shipping companies, maritime training centers, maritime higher education institutions, and students, fostering a collaborative dialogue on the future of skills development in the maritime field.
