Focus Group on User-Driven Challenges and Solutions for Blue Economy Development Held at the Regional Hub of Croatia

On June 26, 2025, at 4 PM, the Regional Hub of Croatia successfully organized a focus group titled "Identification of User-Driven Challenges and Design of Effective Solutions for Blue Economy Development" at the Maritime Department of the University of Zadar. This event was part of the ABBA project – Adriatic-Ionian SustainaBle Blue Economy Alliance for upscaling SMEs.
The focus group was led by Astrid Zekić, PhD and brought together key stakeholders and traditional SMEs operating in sectors such as ports, shipyards, shipbuilding companies, and aquaculture enterprises.
This event aimed to capture the real needs and challenges faced by traditional blue economy actors and to collaboratively design actionable solutions that support sustainable development and growth.

Focus Group Held as Part of the Regional Hub of Croatia Activities

On June 26, 2025, at 2 PM, a focus group titled "Mapping Key Stakeholder Needs and Challenges in Blue Economy Sectors" was successfully held at the Maritime Department. This event was organized as part of the activities within the Regional Hub of Croatia, established under the ABBA project – Adriatic-Ionian SustainaBle Blue Economy Alliance for upscaling SMEs.
The focus group was led by Šime Vučetić, PhD and brought together key stakeholders representing the Quadruple Helix Model, including academia, industry, government, and civil society actors relevant to the regional blue economy context.
The event aimed to foster a comprehensive understanding of regional challenges and opportunities in the blue economy, supporting the Hub’s mission to strengthen innovation, collaboration, and sustainable growth in maritime sectors.

Croatian Regional Hub Launch Event

On June 26, 2025, the Maritime Department officially hosted the launch of the Croatian Regional Hub – a new key platform aimed at strengthening research capabilities, promoting technology development, and fostering collaboration among key stakeholders in the Blue Economy sectors.
The event was organized and led by the Hub coordinator and Head of the Maritime Department, Luka Grbić.
The Regional Hub of Croatia seeks to enhance the regional innovation ecosystem and become a central platform for innovation and cooperation, driving sustainable growth and resilience in the maritime sector.
This one-day event, organized as part of the ABBA project – Adriatic-Ionian SustainaBle Blue Economy Alliance for upscaling SMEs, offered participants the opportunity to learn about the Hub’s activities and the many benefits it brings to the region and its stakeholders. Attendees engaged directly with the Hub’s dedicated team, gained valuable insights into its mission, and explored ways to jointly promote innovation and sustainable development in the Blue Economy.

Croatian Regional Hub Launch Event

Izložba - Dani pomorstva u Vrsima

U utorak, 24. lipnja 2025. godine, u suorganizaciji Pomorskog odjela Sveučilišta u Zadru, Zavoda za povijesne znanosti HAZU u Zadru, i Udruge pomoraca „Sv. Nikola“ Vrsi otvorena je izložba Maritimna baština Vrsi. Na izložbi je tematski prikazana bogata pomorska baština vrških pomoraca i njihovih obitelji koja je skupljana generacijama. Predmete su ustupili sami mještani, a stručni koncept izradile su autorice izložbe, doc. dr. sc. Ljiljana Peričin s Pomorskog odjela Sveučilišta u Zadru i voditeljica Pomorske zbirke Zavoda HAZU u Zadru Marijana Dlačić. Prigodne riječi na izložbi uputili su pročelnik Pomorskog odjela izv.prof. dr. sc. Luka Grbić, upravitelj Zavoda HAZU u Zadru dr. sc. Tado Oršolić te predsjednik udruge pomoraca „Sv. Nikola“ Vrsi, gosp. Neven Predovan. Priređena je u prostoru Osnovne škole „Petar Zoranić“ Nin, Područne škole Vrsi. Izložba je dio manifestacije Dani pomorstva u Vrsima koja se svake godine organizira povodom obilježavanja međunarodnog Dana pomoraca 25. lipnja. Na završnoj svečanosti Dana pomorstva u Vrsima Sveučilištu u Zadru uručena je zahvalnica Udruge pomoraca Sv. Nikola Vrsi koju je u ime Sveučilišta preuzeo izv.prof.dr.sc. Luka Grbić.

Škola jedrenja za studente

Oduvijek ste htjeli naučiti jedriti, ali niste znali odakle krenuti? Sad je prava prilika! Iskoristite ljeto za nešto novo – pridružite nam se na moru i otkrijte čari jedrenja uz iskusne trenere i odličnu ekipu! ⛵

Najavljujemo drugu po redu Školu jedrenja za studente, koja će se održati od 14. do 18. srpnja 2025. u popodnevnim satima! Program je organiziran u suradnji s Pomorskim odjelom Sveučilišta u Zadru i pod pokroviteljstvom Tankerske plovidbe, a namijenjen je studentima Sveučilišta u Zadru, za koje je potpuno besplatan.

Škola se sastoji od kratkog teorijskog uvoda te praktičnog dijela na moru, gdje ćete iskusiti čari jedrenja uz vodstvo naših trenera – studenata koji su pod jedrima odrasli i svoje znanje rado prenose dalje.
